Track time with the built-in timer
The built-in timer is the fastest way to track time in Sandtime.io when you want the product to keep the running entry for you.
Typical flow
- Choose a project or reuse the last one.
- Start tracking.
- Stop tracking when the work block ends.
- Edit the activity if you want to adjust notes, duration, or billable status.
When to use the timer
- Daily task execution.
- Focus sessions where start and stop are clear.
- Desktop or mobile workflows where you want less manual typing.
When manual entry is better
- Reconstructing time after the fact.
- Entering weekend work on a specific date.
- Fixing a missed stop or a gap from earlier in the week.
If you need more structure later, reports and timesheets work well with both timer-based and manually created entries.
