Business Day Calculator
Free business day calculator: add or subtract working days from a date, skipping weekends and a country's 2026 public holidays, to find a deadline.
Set the deadline
Pick a start date and how many business days to move. Weekends and the chosen country's public holidays are skipped.
Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays, and the selected country's 2026 public holidays. A holiday on a weekend does not count twice.
How business days are counted
Starting from the date you choose, the calculator steps one day at a time, counting only days that are not weekends and not public holidays, until it has moved the number of business days you asked for. Choosing "before the start date" steps backward instead.
This is how deadlines, service-level agreements, and notice periods are usually measured, so the answer lands on a real working day rather than a weekend or holiday.
Business day questions
What counts as a business day?
A business day, or working day, is a weekday that is not a public holiday - usually Monday to Friday. This calculator skips Saturdays, Sundays, and the selected country's 2026 public holidays.
Does the calculator count the start date?
No. Counting starts from the day after the start date when adding, or the day before when subtracting, so the result is the date that is the requested number of business days away.
Which public holidays are used?
The 2026 public holidays for the country you select. Pick the country whose calendar applies to your deadline, or one without matching holidays to count weekdays only.
