Installing from Google Play

Search for Sandtime.io in Google Play, install it, and sign in with your account, or create one in the app. The app needs Android 7.0 or newer, and updates come through Google Play like any other app.

On a phone Google Play will not serve, open sandtime.io in Chrome, open the browser menu, and choose Add to Home screen. It gets its own icon and window, the same features, and the same account. The mobile install guide has both routes step by step.

Built for work that happens away from a desk

Field technicians, site supervisors, carers, and consultants spend the day at a client's door rather than at a keyboard, and those hours are the ones that go missing when they are written down from memory on Friday. The Android app keeps the timer within one tap wherever the work is.

A timer that follows you between screens

The bottom bar holds Dashboard, Timesheets, Reports, Inbox, and Settings. A running timer stays pinned above it with its own stop button, so you can check a report or a timesheet and still stop the clock in one tap.

Start tracking on the dashboard begins an entry straight away, on the project and Billable setting of your last activity. Arrived at a different client? Change the project while the timer runs.

Record the visit you forgot to time

A quick job becomes an hour, and the timer was never started. Open the activity form, pick the project, and set the start and end or the duration. Mark it billable or not, and it lands in the week like any other entry.

Check the week before you submit it

Before approval, Timesheets shows your week project by project, with a total for each day. Type hours straight into a day to fix a gap, then use Submit for approval in the Approvals section. An approved week locks, so what your manager signed off is what ends up on the invoice or in payroll. A day on Android

Ola maintains heating systems for a property company. At 7:30 AM she taps Start tracking in the van and sets the first building's project. Between buildings she stops the timer and starts a new one on the next project, so each site gets its own entry. At the third address a quick check turns into a replacement part, and she forgets to switch; that evening she corrects the start time of the entry. On Friday afternoon she opens Timesheets, sees that Tuesday is short because she forgot a call-out, types the hours into the day, and submits the week from the van.

When there is no signal

The app needs a connection. In a basement plant room or a rural dead zone it shows an offline screen rather than recording time. Start the timer before you go in or once you are back in range, or add the entry afterwards with its start and end times. Nothing you already logged is lost; it is all on your account.

What it does not track

Sandtime.io records the hours people log with the timer or by hand. It does not track location, takes no screenshots, and logs no keystrokes, on Android or anywhere else. A work app on a personal phone should not ask for more than the hours.

Languages

The app is available in English, Polish, and French. It follows your phone's language when it is one of those three, and you can switch it in the app at any time.

The rest of your team and devices

The Android app signs in to the same account as the web app and the Windows, Mac, and iPhone apps. For teams, timesheet approvals and reminders work from the phone as they do on a computer, and the people you invite use Sandtime.io free.
