Time Tracking Health Check

Free time tracking health check: grade your team on billable utilization, lost time, overtime, and timesheet discipline, and see what to fix first.

Answer four questions

Use rough estimates for a typical person on the team. You do not need exact numbers to get a useful grade.

C
68 out of 100
Billable utilization81
Captured time60
Overtime health60
Timesheet timeliness70

What to fix first

  • Time is slipping between the work and the timesheet. Capture hours as work happens instead of reconstructing them later.
  • Overtime is running high. Check workload and estimates before it turns into burnout and margin loss.

How the health check works

The grade combines four signals of billing health: how much tracked time is billable, how much slips before it reaches a timesheet, how much overtime the team carries, and how reliably timesheets arrive on time. Each is scored and weighted into a single grade from A to F.

It is a quick self-assessment, not an audit. Sandtime.io turns these signals into real numbers by capturing time as work happens and reporting on utilization, billable hours, and overtime.

Health check questions

How is the grade calculated?

Four sub-scores, weighted: billable utilization and forgotten time count for 30% each, overtime and timesheet timeliness for 20% each. Each one is scored out of 100 first, then combined.

What counts as a good score?

Utilization scores 100 at a billable share of 80%. Forgotten time scores 0 at 50 minutes a day, and overtime scores 0 at 10 hours a week. They are reference points for reading the result, not targets we are telling you to hit.

What do the letter grades mean?

85 and above is an A, 70 a B, 55 a C, 40 a D, and anything lower an F. The letter is a summary; the sub-scores underneath it are what tell you where to start.

Do I need exact numbers?

Rough estimates are enough. The grade is a conversation starter about where the weak area is, not a measurement. If you want real numbers instead of estimates, they have to come from a time record.

No. Everything is calculated in your browser from the four figures you type, and nothing is stored or sent.
