How to Edit or Delete a Time Entry in Sandtime.io

To edit a time entry, open Timesheets, click on the entry you want to change, update the start time, end time, project, or notes in the panel that opens, and save. To delete the entry, open the same panel and click Delete. Deleted entries cannot be recovered - see Recovering deleted activities for what is possible.

What you can change

Clicking any entry in the timesheet grid opens an edit panel. From there you can:

  • Time - Adjust the start and end time, or change the duration directly.
  • Date - Move the entry to a different day by changing the date field.
  • Project - Reassign the entry to a different project.
  • Notes - Add, change, or remove the description.

Changes save immediately when you confirm. There is no draft state - the update is live as soon as you click save.

If the entry belongs to a locked timesheet

When a timesheet period is locked, entries in that period cannot be edited or deleted. The edit panel opens in read-only mode. To make a change, a manager or administrator must unlock the period first - see Locking and unlocking timesheets.

If the entry was created by the timer

Entries created by the built-in timer are edited the same way as manual entries. Click the entry in the timesheet grid and adjust as needed. If the timer is still running, stop it first.

If entries overlap

Sandtime.io warns you when two entries overlap in time. If you move or extend an entry into another entry's range, you will see a notification. See Overlap notifications for details.
