Is Sandtime.io free?
Yes. Sandtime.io is free for unlimited users. There are no seat limits, no per-user fees, and no credit card required to get started.
What is included in the free plan?
The free plan includes:
- Time tracking with a built-in timer and manual entry
- Unlimited team members - add as many people as you need
- Timesheets, approvals, and locking
- Reports, project visibility, and cost tracking
Is there a catch to the free plan?
There is no seat count to manage, no trial clock counting down, and nothing that switches off later. There is also no billing to set up: no plan to pick, no invoice, and nothing to cancel.
Free does not mean monitored
There are no screenshots, no keystroke logging, and no app or website monitoring. Time is self-reported, which is what makes the record something your team will stand behind. The longer answer is in Is Sandtime.io employee monitoring software?.
Your records can leave with you
Reports export to Excel and CSV, and a REST API pulls the same records programmatically, so the data stays yours whatever happens to the price. See Print or export itemized reports for the export steps and the API reference for the programmatic route.
Where do I upgrade my plan?
There is no upgrade button in the app, because every organization starts on the same free plan with everything listed above, with no billing page or subscription to manage. If something you expected is missing, it is more likely your role: an Administrator can change it, as described in Roles and permissions.
If your team needs more than the free plan, ask us. A custom Enterprise plan and the nonprofit offer include extra features, and we can open features that are still in early access to teams that want to try them. Email us or open the chat and tell us what you need. Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
What happens when premium plans arrive?
Optional paid tiers are planned for teams with heavier workflow and reporting needs, and they have no announced timeline. When they arrive, the core time tracking product will remain free. Per-seat pricing is not part of any planned model.
Nonprofits
Registered nonprofit organizations and NGOs are eligible for a custom offer from Sandtime.io, including when paid tiers become available in the future. See the nonprofit offer for details.
