Print or export itemized reports

If a client or administrator needs line-by-line evidence of work, Sandtime.io reports can be shaped for export and printing. See also custom reports in the glossary.

For itemized exports

Create or edit a custom report and:

  • remove groupings that are too broad,
  • group by Activity or Year-Month-Day,
  • add Start time and End time when exact timing matters,
  • open the export button under the report and choose Export to Excel or Export to CSV when the final formatting happens somewhere else.

For monthly employee timesheets

A common setup is:

  • date range for the target month,
  • Group by: Member -> Year-Month-Day,
  • metrics such as Reported time and Billable time.

This produces a day-by-day employee export that works well for payroll reviews and client handoffs.

One week, without building a report

A weekly timesheet exports on its own. Open Timesheets, pick the week, and use the same Export to Excel and Export to CSV options at the bottom of the page.

Build a custom report when you need a different grouping, a longer range, or metrics the timesheet does not carry. For "send me last week", the timesheet is the shorter path.

Printing

A report is laid out for print rather than merely allowed to print. It prints A4 landscape with the app menus, the tracking button, and the support chat bubble left out, and it keeps the report subtitle and the Report generated on ... line, so the sheet says what it is and when it was produced without anything written on by hand. Printing to PDF from the browser is the usual way to turn that into a file you can send.

Export to Excel first when the layout itself is the point. Column widths, page breaks, and a client's own template are easier to control there than in a browser print dialog.
