This Norwegian planning reference includes national religious holidays plus 1 May and Constitution Day on 17 May. Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and negotiated shorter days are outside the full-day calendar. In 2027 Constitution Day and Whit Monday share 17 May: the calculation deducts that date once, not twice. Contractual holiday work and pay need separate checks.

Whether weekend holidays create a substitute day or reduce statutory hours depends on the country, region, employer and working schedule.
