Working Time Rules: Norway
Norway: working hours, holiday calendars and annual leave rules for practical workforce planning.
This is a general overview, not legal advice. Limits, reference periods, exceptions, and record-keeping duties vary by sector and contract and change over time. Confirm the current rules with the official source and a qualified adviser.

Minimum annual leave4 weeks + 1 dayNorwegian statutory holiday leave is 25 working days with Saturdays counted, normally four weeks and one day. It is not twenty-five Monday-Friday days. Holiday pay is earned separately, and many agreements provide a fifth week. Additional leave applies from age sixty. Compare equivalent weeks before subtracting leave from a five-day capacity plan.Source
Statutory working time
Norway’s ordinary working-time limits are generally nine hours per 24 hours and forty hours per seven days. Demanding schedules can have shorter weekly limits, and collective agreements often provide shorter hours. The editable eight-hour model is a planning assumption; record actual hours and assess the applicable arrangement separately.
